Ana Sofia Catarino has worked at TFRA since 2006 and became a partner in 2009. She focuses on real estate, planning, construction and tourism law and public procurement, as well as labor law and dispute resolution, coordinating the respective departments.
She has a wide experience in real estate operations, leasebacks, renting and related procedures concerning business centers and retail parks. She has also been working with a range of public and private entities in Portugal and abroad on planning operations, development of territorial management instruments and public procurement procedures. She also provides legal advice to human resources departments of multinational companies on staff pre-selection, selection, negotiation, contracting and the resolution of labor conflicts both in and out of court.
Before joining TFRA, Ana Sofia Catarino worked at Teixeira Duarte-Engenharia e Construções, S.A. (2001-2006) and, as an independent lawyer, worked regularly for Portugal’s Almada Municipal Council (2000-2004) and the former Portuguese General Directorate of Motor traffic (DGV) (1997-1999).
She graduated in Law from the University of Lisbon Law Faculty (1997) and completed post-graduate courses in Angolan Public Law (2013) and Public Procurement (2012) at University of Lisbon Law Faculty and in Land, Urban and Environmental Planning law (2001) and Consumer law (1998) at the University of Coimbra Law Faculty;
She has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1999.
She is fluent in Portuguese and English.
